Conversations with OMG!

Four year old Deepak visits home.

Mom: Do you want to eat anything?
Deepak: Nooo…
B: Okay then, let’s sing rhymes.
Deepak: Nooo… I eating.
B: I am eating. Eating what?
Deepak: I (deliberate pause) eating your phone.
B: Yuck! Eating my phone!
Deepak: Yes.
B: Do you have a phone Deepak?
Deepak: No.
B: Why not?
Deepak: Because I want a Blackberry.

Five minutes later, we are searching for rhymes online.

Mom: Show him the rhymes before he starts crying.
B: Amma, it’s streaming.
Deepak: It streaming, Aunty. (Then sotto voce to me): Is your laptop bad?
B: No, sweetie, laptop is fine.
Deepak: Then why it slow?
B: Internet connection is bad.
Deepak: No broadband?

So like that.

About Bhumika's Boudoir

I love to laugh, and end up being a part of high drama and stormy emotion even when I don't pursue it. Being creative, and communicating with people get me going. I enjoy all the good things in life especially those that are slightly risque, and apologise little, if ever, for all that I do. Literature is a passion and so is music.

She laughed and said “that is so 1988.”
